Can I request changes to my Web Site and will they cost me more?

If your site is on our server, your monthly hosting fee includes up to 5 minor changes, or additions per month. Major changes, requiring a new page layout will cost $50/page. For sites not on our server, there is a minimum $10 charge for up to 3 minor changes (repairing broken links, modifying text, image substitution, etc.). Page redesign is $50/page.

I want a Web Site but have no idea how to get started, what do I need to do?

It's really quite simple, just Email robboweb@aol.com with your request and you will receive a response asking a few pertinent questions to begin the design process. A draft page, or pages reflecting a choice of design, will be placed in a file on the server that you can access for review and dictate change, modification or redesign, as an ongoing process, until you are satisfied with the design layout. An initial requirement, is a $100.00, non-refundable, partial payment for this design service. Once the site is constructed the way you want it and payment for the completed web site is received, it will be activated on the Internet and submitted to the search engines.

Why should I pay for my site on your server when there are plenty of "free" hosting sites all over the Internet?

A very good question. There are a ton of reasons why this is not such a great idea, many are technical and require an expanded explanation, if you really want to know. The simple answer is that most of these hosts specify that commercial web sites are not allowed. While this restriction is overwhelmingly abused, at some point it may be enforced and your site could get tossed. A more significant reason is that most major search engines will not index those pages, or at best will index them very poorly. Obviously, why go to the expense of creating a web site that cannot be found by people doing a simple search for your product or service on the internet? (see search engine positioning below)

What do I have to do to place my site on your server?

Just let me know that you want your site on our server. If you already have your domain name listed on another server I will transfer it and there is no transfer fee. No contract is required. You pay only $19.95/month plus an initial setup fee of $20.00. I require payment for a full year up front, the twelfth month is FREE ($18.29/mo.). When you pay for a year in advance you may elect to terminate the service with a one month advance notification. You will receive a refund for all full months not used (termination during any part of a month is considered a month used). Any pages or programs you have paid for belong to you and you may transfer them if you choose.

Can you guarantee that my Web Site will be prominently positioned on all the major search engines?

No! and anyone who says they can is scamming you. It is possible to create pages that score well with individual search engines using techniques that mislead or overestimate the value content of a given page (this is known as spam). A search engine may indeed index the page in the top ten until someone reports it, or their own spam detectors root it out. The penalties for spam include, severely downgrading the page(s) to removing the web site altogether from the index. It's simply not worth the risk for the certain to be limited exposure.

What I will do is, construct your pages based on my knowledge and years of experience in achieving honest, prominent placement with search engines. If you totally dictate page design and content, then there is not much I can do to effect search engine placement. But, if you allow me some latitude in page design and content based on the subject (keywords and key phrases) you wish to be found by, I will do my best to get you good positioning. If you wish, I can direct you to some of my client's sites where successful placement has been achieved.

Don't expect miracles. Each search engine has a different criteria for ranking pages. While a given page may rank well with one or two, it may be a flop with the rest. Add to this the fact that the search engines are constantly evolving and fairly regularly change the rating formula. New pages appear at the top and old pages vanish. The most successful sites consist of many pages designed specifically for each search engine. Now don't panic at the thought of staggering costs for your site. Good placement of even one page on a major search engine can bring you plenty of traffic and potential clients.
